| One can’t help but notice that the colors that adorn many Mexican houses, store fronts and shacks were not selected from the Ralph Lauren color chart with the intent of blending seamlessly into the surrounding neighborhood or landscape. To the contrary, they shout out an aesthetic all their own, very similar to the young teenage Mexican girls with their gold jewelry, tight jeans, high heels, bright lipstick, and enough makeup for three. To the tamed eye, this “free-for-all” chaos, can seem a little unsettling, even shocking. However, with a little loosening of one’s perception, these wild colors can playfully and imperceptably twist their way into one’s heart. |
